Aren’t nutritional supplements all the same?
No. Most nutritional supplements and “over-the-counter” vitamins are made by pharmaceutical companies where engineered chemical fractions of vitamin structures are reproduced in a laboratory. They isolate part of a vitamin and lead us to believe that it’s as natural as found in nature. In reality, all vitamins are “complexes” in which many known and unknown factors work synergistically together to help the human body. The body does not recognize an “incomplete vitamin” that does not even remotely resemble food. Whole foods and whole food supplements is real nutrition, as designed by nature.
For example, carrots are rich in vitamin A complex. A “complex” is something made up from different parts which work together. If testing indicated vitamin A deficiency, we would find a whole food high in vitamin A complex (carrots would be a likely source) and a supplement rich in vitamin A complex would be included in your program. Fractionated vitamins lack the synergistic factors normally present in whole foods, therefore we only use the highest quality whole food supplements available. These supplements are entirely derived from specific whole foods, organically grown and prepared in a way that preserves their vital enzymes and vitamins, making them the ultimate nutritional supplements.
What exactly is DESIGNED CLINICAL NUTRITION?
Designed: Especially prepared for you, based on a specific plan.
Clinical: Pertaining to the results seen in clinical use on a large number of patients over many years.
Nutrition: Real food, as designed by nature, to enable the body to nourish and repair itself.
It is a nutritional program designed specifically for you, based on the results your body provides. Each person has their own unique chemistry, and a supplement or food that is beneficial for one person may be detrimental to another. This is not a “cookie cutter” program, but Designed Clinical Nutrition is unique to each individual, even if people share the same disease or symptoms.
How do I get a Designed Clinical Nutrition Program?
As a Nutrition Response Testing patient, you will receive an individualized program based on the results of your analysis. The program will match exactly the needs of your body through diet and whole food supplements. The elements in your personal Designed Clinical Nutrition program are the nutrients that you are simply not getting or not assimilating in your current diet.
How do I know which supplements are right for me?
After the weak reflexes are found and we identify the underlying cause of your symptoms, we can isolate and verify the exact whole food supplements (and quantities) your body needs to handle its problems. Our goal is to have you take as few supplements as possible to strengthen every weak reflex on the body. Although not every problem can be treated at the same time, this program is also designed to know which problem or layer of dysfunction needs to be treated first. This is very important because if things are not corrected in the right order, the results may not be optimal. By following the correct sequence, we can ensure the best possible results. Once your body is restored, the need for supplements will diminish (especially if you have a good diet).
What are whole foods?
“Whole foods” can be defined as a single ingredient that had nothing taken away from it and nothing added. It is not processed in any way, still in it’s “whole” form and produced without any genetic modification, pesticides or other chemicals. It’s basically good old-fashioned food grown from the ground.
Whole food supplements that are entirely derived from specific whole foods, organically grown and prepared in a way that preserves their vital enzymes and vitamins; makes them the ultimate vitamin- mineral products. Now in an incredibly concentrated form your body can get complete nutrition from a small tablet or capsule. Restoring your body with the basic building blocks of nutrition makes it possible to enable your body to heal itself…just as Nature intended.
I thought I ate well…
There are many causes of nutrient deficiencies. The obvious causes being nutrient deficient and over- farmed soil, foods picked before ripeness and extensive shipping of food to far away places. Many people eat more processed food and sugar than they realize. Not only do they have insufficient nutrient value but they create deficiencies because nutrients are needed to process those products. Microwaving food, food preservatives, caffeine and high-stress lifestyles also contribute to the problem. Even if you are physically fit, your body will require more nutrition when you exercise.
Can’t I eat better?
Over recent years there has been a drastic decline in the quality of food due to genetic engineering, hormones, increased pesticide use, poor farming techniques and increases in fast-food consumption. This has resulted in a nation of sick people who are dependent on pharmaceutical drugs. Current food quality makes it next to impossible to get all of the nutritional components your body requires to maintain itself. Even a good diet needs to be supplemented with whole food vitamins to achieve optimal health.
How long will it take for me to start feeling healthy again?
Every case is different, however the majority of patients who adhere to their program have reported noticing positive changes in the first 4-6 weeks. (Your improvement is directly proportional to how well you adhere to the program)
Do I have to stay on a Designed Clinical Nutrition regimen forever?
Through the course of your program additional layers will show up. For example, if you have a long term health problem, when the priority is handled with the correct nutrients, your next visit may reveal another major issue which may have been hidden. When this happens we will adjust your program, still trying to keep you to as few supplements as possible.
As you feel better and your health improves, you will find yourself wanting to maintain “health” as a daily routine. Your lifestyle and habits will have changed and you will be fully responsible for your own health. Once in the maintenance phase of care, most people want to keep the investment they made in their health by getting a health check monthly, quarterly or even semi-annually. Ultimately it’s your decision how nutrition fits into your health-care plan.
